The Apple iPad has popularized the use of slate devices and created such hype that there are more and more people out there who would like to get their hands on similar gadgets but don’t exactly want to join in the Apple hysteria.
With that said, here is a list of tablet pc computer choices you might want to check out.
The Asus Eee Pad is set by Asus on the Nvidia Tegra 2 platform which employs an ARM processor. This device incorporates 3G and of course a touch-screen functionality. This was designed to be affordable according to Asus but it is not clear if the cost cutting will affect screen over all functions.
Dell Looking Glass is also set on the Nvidia Tegra 2 platform and is set to be bigger than the Dell Mini 5. Its focal point is a 7-inch 800 x 400 resolution capacitive screen. This tablet computer also comes with an SDHC card and 4GB of RAM for storage capacity expansion. A 1.3-megapixel front facing camera designed for video conferencing is also thrown in which confirms the device’s built-in wireless capabilities.
Archos 7 Home Tablet PC computer is the latest from Archos and is being pitched as the company’s answer to Apple’s iPad. The 7-inch 800 x 480 resolution screen makes it less bulky than the iPad. Like other Archos devices, this model does not come with a hard disk option and the result is a thickness of only 12mm. Its storage capability is from 2GB to 8GB depending on the model. It has a microSDHC card slot for storage expansion to 32 GB.
